In 1919 the doctors told me that I had heart trouble and that I had only three months to live. I was a lonely, sick man and at one time even thought of suicide. During those three months a copy of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy was given me, and simply through reading this book I was healed. I really do not know when the healing took place. I forgot the trouble and was reminded of it only when I was examined for an insurance policy and the doctor pronounced me perfect.

Also through reading Science and Health I have been healed of drinking and smoking, and other bad habits have been eliminated. I have had many healings through Christian Science, but one for which I am particularly grateful was that of drinking coffee. I used to drink many cups of very strong coffee daily. I became very irritable and could sleep very little. Then I studied what Mrs. Eddy has to say about coffee on page 406 of Science and Health. She classifies coffee with tea, opium, and tobacco and says that this habit can be destroyed only by Mind's mastery over the body. I was healed instantly, and I since have had no desire for coffee or tea.
