Since my first testimony of Christian Science healing was published in the Sentinel, many other beautiful healings have taken place in our home. Although two of these healings were similar, the working out of each shows clearly that we cannot have formulas for treatment, but that we must let Mind, God, do the work. The need of the moment is met as the need arises.

The first healing was that of a fractured arm, when my son fell from the roof of a railway carriage. As this occurred while he was at work, he was taken to the hospital to have X rays and the arm dressed. The arm was too swollen for anything to be done at that time, and the lad asked to come home. As he was seventeen years old, I asked him which treatment he would like to have, Christian Science or medical, and he chose the medical. The following day an attempt was made to drain fluid from his elbow, and he returned home in great pain and worse than before.

I felt compassion for him, and as I looked at him I said, "Son, will you let me remove those bandages and apply Christian Science?" He agreed, oh, so willingly! As I removed the dressing, I also removed the binding beliefs that the carnal mind had placed upon him. I told the boy that he could raise the arm and use it. After several attempts he was able to move it, and in a few minutes the swelling went down, and his arm regained its normal color. Two days later this boy went away for a holiday and had no need for even a bandage. When he returned a fortnight later, he had forgotten the incident. That was three years ago, and the healing has been permanent.
