Church Dedications
Note: Christian Science churches are dedicated only when free from debt.
Hastings, Michigan (First Church).
Dedication services held on Sunday, June 6, 1951, at the new Christian Science church on West Green Street. Hastings, were attended by many at both morning and afternoon sessions. During the services the following history of the local church was read.
Christian Science services have been held in Hastings for more than half a century. It was in the fall of 1900 that a group of Hastings residents interested in Christian Science began to hold meetings at 135 West Green Street, the home of one of their number. In the spring of 1903 space more suitable for the regular use of the services was obtained in the G.A.R. Hall on State Street.
