Christian Science came into my experience over thirty-three years ago. My first healing was of chronic constipation, and this healing seemed a miracle to me. Very soon after I started reading "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, our daughter, who was less than a year old, began losing weight, and her condition became alarming. I still had faith in material remedies, so I consulted a physician. Soon I began to argue with myself that if Christian Science could cure one condition, as I had proved in the case of constipation, then it could cure every erroneous condition. I then turned wholeheartedly to this Science and requested treatment from a practitioner. Soon the child regained her normal condition.

About this time my husband began to show much antagonism toward Christian Science, and my understanding was so limited that I now often wonder how I was able to take so firm a stand for the truth. I had learned the "Daily Prayer" in the Manual of The Mother Church by Mrs. Eddy (Art. VIII, Sect. 4), and I reasoned that a religion which teaches its followers to use this prayer each day was one that I wished to know more about. I was very unhappy because my husband opposed this Science, but I felt I could not give it up. Gradually his antagonism lessened, and today Christian Science is given loving consideration in our home.

I have had instantaneous healings of toothache, influenza, burns, and ptomaine poisoning, and I have experienced many other healings. I have had to learn that harboring hurt feelings and resentment often results in a hurt body. At one time these errors were manifested as eczema on my face and at another time as a severe boil.
