This is a cumulative expression of gratitude for all the good that has come into my experience these past twenty-six years through the study of Christian Science. Its healing ministrations have brought me freedom from many ills. Man-made laws voiced at the time of our daughter's birth were proved null and void, a discontented disposition has given way to a truer sense of happiness, and protection, as well as supply, has been realized many times in my daily living.
Mrs. Eddy's great pronouncement in "Miscellaneous Writings"(p. 307), "God gives you His spiritual ideas, and in turn, they give you daily supplies," was proved practical in our family some years ago. My husband had been out of work for some time, though we both had been studying and working on the problem. One day I suddenly realized that a much-needed step for us to take was to subscribe for all, rather than just some, of the periodicals. From the standpoint of human reasoning this seemed inadvisable, but from the higher, spiritual viewpoint it was quite clear that our periodicals were indeed a source of spiritual ideas. When we both saw that we really could not afford to be without them, we took this step, confident that only blessing would result from implicit obedience to Article VIII, Section 14, of the Manual of The Mother Church by Mrs. Eddy. So it did, for not long afterwards my husband found work which has brought more progress than his former position could ever have done.
I am humbly grateful for the many opportunities that have been mine for service in the Cause of Christian Science. Each experience has been a steppingstone in my progress Spiritward and has made me ever more conscious of humanity's debt of gratitude to Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of this age-old religion.—(Mrs.) Josephine L. Holbrook, Weymouth, Massachusetts.
