My heart is full of gratitude for the precious gift of Christian Science, and I thank God, the Giver of all good, for its Discoverer and Founder, our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. Through her writings the Bible truths are understood and demonstrated, and the life and works of the Master, Christ Jesus, made practical.

Christian Science was first introduced to our family over forty years ago, and as a result of its healing ministry my brother was restored to a life of activity and usefulness after medical doctors had despaired of his recovery. Many healings took place in those early years, and problems concerned with supply, business, and human relationships were solved. These were the direct result of a better understanding of God gained from our daily study of the Bible and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, with occasional help from practitioners.

I am grateful that I had the privilege of attending a Christian Science Sunday School for several years. At first I continued going to an orthodox one as well, but soon I chose to leave it and take my stand for Christian Science. I had grasped enough of the logic of its teachings to see that if the first chapter of Genesis gives the true account of creation, then the second chapter must give a mistaken view of God and the universe, because it is the exact opposite of the first record. Although there have been many testing times, the joy that Christian Science brought me in each instance has remained with me throughout the years.
