ARE WE TEACHABLE?

When Christ Jesus was but a youth, he was found by his parents in the presence of teachers and scholars, "both hearing them, and asking them questions" (Luke 2 : 46) . His childlike receptivity and tender humility continued throughout his earthly career and accompanied the strength and power which were so evident in his Christly nature. At one time he called a little child to him and said (Matt. 18:4), "Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven." Throughout his teaching and preaching experience the Master bore witness to the fact that thought must be receptive and teachable if one is to give evidence of Truth, God. He showed that humility and meekness go hand in hand with strength and power and bespeak the nature of the Christ.

Christ Jesus was the greatest teacher the world has ever known.

His greatness rested in his recognition of his unity with God, the one and only Mind. In fulfillment of prophecy he brought salvation through obeying the mandates of Mind. He realized that before his expression of the Christ-consciousness the errors of sinful sense disappeared and the immortality of true existence was brought to light. To the questioning Philip he said (John 14:9, 10) : "Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works." Thus the Master through his teachableness was the greatest of all teachers and healers.
