The writer once sat in the home of a Christian Science practitioner with a friend who was in a wheel chair and had been for many years. The latter had been a student of Christian Science for a long time and had received much help from its study and also through those who had worked with her, but she was still unable to walk.

The practitioner, speaking of some forms of aggressive mental suggestion, mentioned astrology and proceeded to explain something of its teaching and practice. When he paused, the patient uttered an exclamation and said, "A long time ago my grandmother was told by an astrologer that all the women in our family would be helpless from the hips down, and we all have been."

Recognizing that the patient still clung to a belief in the reality and power of astrology, through which individuals and collective destiny is said to be foretold, the practitioner spoke of divine law, the law of God, Truth, which operates continuously, exterminating error and supply health and harmony to mankind in proportion as it is recognized and utilized. He stated that this law of God governs man and the universe and is a law of harmony and peace and right activity; that the real man is wholly spiritual, and his real destiny, therefore, is spiritual and good.
