ACTIVITY HEALS THE SENSE OF LOSS

Any individual who progressively proves his active status as the man God made has found the antidote for all sense of loss. The man God made is comprised of the qualities of God actively bearing witness to the presence of their Maker. Deprivation, inadequacy, lonesomeness, are phases of inactivity, and as such are illusory forms of material sense, lifeless, stagnant, and barren. Consequently deprivation, inadequacy, and lonesomeness vanish, as illusions always vanish, simultaneously with clear recognition of reality. Recognition of reality belongs exclusively to the state of thought which is spiritually active. And that state of thought is always man's.

To the activity of divine Truth in her consciousness Mary Baker Eddy attributes her initial perception of the Comforter which Christ Jesus predicted would appear and which, under divine guidance, she labeled Christian Science. In "Retrospection and Introspection" she explains (p. 31), "The first spontaneous motion of Truth and Love, acting through Christian Science on my roused consciousness, banished at once and forever the fundamental error of faith in things material."

Activity is always mental and spiritual. It is the inexhaustible unfolding of ideas perpetually conceived by divine Mind, God. As previously indicated, these ideas, individualized, constitute immortal man, by whom God eternally expresses Himself. This man is aware of his inclusion in the Mind that conceives him, and he is conscious of deriving all he needs from his divine source and of never losing anything.
