AT A CHURCH MEETING
(III John 1:9, 12)
There
was Diotrephes (John wrote about the church)
Who loveth to have pre-eminence among them,
But of Demetrius he said that he
Had good report of men and of the truth.
Now in the silent sessions of my heart,
Sitting amongst my brethren in this place,
What is recorded in a decisive hour?
Which name do I answer to when the quiet voice
Of searching Mind speaks in the hush of prayer?
Diotrephes? Demetrius?
