Angels Camp, California (First Church).

First Church of Christ, Scientist, Angels Camp, held its dedication services in the new stone building recently, making a milestone in a local organization which first met at a ranch in Murphys in 1934 to organize a society. Meetings were held there until October 7, 1934, when it was decided to move to the Vallecito Community Church. Later the society purchased property at Angels Camp, but building plans were delayed because of the war and shortage of materials.

On February 1, 1947, the society rented a building here for its meetings and early in 1948 started construction of the new building. The first service was held in the new church on February 6, 1949.

In fulfillment of requirements made by The Mother Church, the society became known as First Church of Christ, Scientist, Angels Camp, on March 1, 1949.
