I wish to share some of the joy I...

I wish to share some of the joy I have received through my study of Christian Science. At the passing on of my husband some years ago I seemed overwhelmed with grief. One day, when everything seemed dark, I studied the Bible and the writings of our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, for many hours. The following words from her poem entitled

"Christ My Refuge" (Poems, p. 12) lifted me out of the gloom, and I was healed:

"And o'er earth's troubled, angry sea
I see Christ walk,
And come to me, and tenderly, Divinely talk."

I have also been healed of the cigarette habit, which was very tenacious, of many physical maladies and unlovely traits of disposition, and of fear of lack. Through a greater understanding of my inseparability from God I have gained a better sense of health, supply, home, and satisfying relationships.

I am truly grateful for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, and for class instruction. My heart wells up with love for our Way-shower, Christ Jesus, and our intrepid Leader for her courage in giving Christian Science to the world.—(Mrs.) LULA PURPLE, Atlanta, Georgia.
