It is with humble gratitude for the many blessings Christian Science has brought me that I give this testimony. This manifestation of the instantaneous healing power of Truth occurred about fourteen years ago. It was in connection with the birth of a child in our home. A doctor was present to comply with the state law, but a Christian Science nurse was in charge, and a practitioner was also present.

A few minutes after the birth was completed the practitioner and I went in to see the child. We were told that because of the position of the limbs he would never walk. At that instant there forcibly came to my thought a statement from the Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy (Art. VIII, Sect. 1): "In Science, divine Love alone governs man." That angel thought so filled my consciousness that fear found no place to lodge. The child was healed in that moment, for the claim was never again mentioned, or treated, and no one ever questioned the position of his limbs. After a normal lapse of time, the boy stood and walked naturally. It was some three years later that the child's mother was told of the law that had been imposed on her son. The healing has, of course, been permanent.

Adequate gratitude for the life and work of our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, can only be expressed in service to her Cause. I would also express my gratitude for class instruction, and for the privilege of membership in The Mother Church and in a branch church. —Alfred N. Dunnell, Belmont, Massachusetts.
