It is with a heart full of joy that I give thanks to God; to Christ Jesus, our Way-shower; and to Mary Baker Eddy for Christian Science.

My father and four uncles were physicians and surgeons, and I was familiar with materia medica treatment only.

My first healing in Christian Science came through impersonal work at a rest home conducted by Scientists. In one week's stay I was healed of the cigarette habit, and all desire for social drinking and for a worldly life fell away from me. I also experienced the physical healing of a nervous disorder, which I now realize was the result of wrong thinking. After this healing I visited a Christian Science practitioner, and the awakening of my thought really began. My gratitude for the consecrated workers in Christian Science is unbounded.
