In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mary Baker Eddy says (p. 1), "The prayer that reforms the sinner and heals the sick is an absolute faith that all things are possible to God,—a spiritual understanding of Him, an unselfed love." My heart overflows with gratitude for the constant healing agent—Christian Science. Approximately three years ago I was divinely guided to the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health, in a Seattle public library. Since that time, through loving help of practitioners, friends, and the Sunday School, I have steadily progressed in my understanding and have experienced many proofs of God's love.

Before I knew of this Science I was told by insurance doctors that I had very high blood pressure. This verdict was confirmed by a family doctor from whom I had received treatment for this ailment for some time. I tried to join the United States Navy, but was rejected after five or six examinations. It was then I turned earnestly to the study of Christian Science. Late the same summer, when I was fifteen hundred miles from home, I decided to join the Army. The practitioner who was helping me wrote, saying: "Feel your superiority to matter. God's will can never be reversed or set aside." Needless to say, I passed the required physical examination in good order.

When I was on my way to Europe, I was beautifully protected from any sense of seasickness, which appeared quite prevalent among many of the other passengers.
