We have so much cause for gratitude that we should like to express it here. Now that we are again free to acknowledge our adherence to Christian Science, everything seems easier for us.

When our eight-year-old daughter was taken ill with a severe case of diphtheria in October, 1947, it was the courageous and persistent work of a practitioner and his words to us that enabled us to understand the truth, the meaning and application of which we had forgotten. Our anxious and fearful thinking about health had stood in the way, but now we understood that man is the child of God, a spiritual idea, reflecting Love and Truth. With this realization fear vanished, and our little girl was soon well enough to return to school. She is a good pupil and soon caught up with the others, as though she had never been absent from her classes. The doctor, who was called in obedience to the law, was surprised to see how excellently her heart functioned and that paralysis had completely disappeared.

In the case of our second child, error, which would have attacked her in the same way, could not gain ground because of the good work done by the practitioner.
