AS UNDERSTANDING DAWNS

And they were healed.
Simple, direct, the Scripture states
a heartening fact.
What went before?
Significant, for Luke relates
throughout that watchful night he prayed.

Then, may we know—
should troubled shadows mar the way
and darkness lag—
Truth's light does heal
every false dream. We need to pray
as Jesus prayed—all through our night.
