I am sending this testimony in gratitude for all that Christian Science has done for me and my family. I have enjoyed many proofs of God's loving care, for does He not say (Isa. 41:10), "Fear thou not; for I am with thee"?

I first heard of Christian Science in 1911 after the doctor had said that if I did not have an operation at once for an internal trouble, I could not live six months. While my husband and I were trying to make up our minds, a woman who had learned that I was to go to the hospital came to see me. I told her I did not feel very happy about it, for I was full of fear. She recommended that I have Christian Science help instead. I had never heard of this Science, so of course what she was saying seemed very strange to me. She told me that if I would go with her, she would take me to a practitioner. I went with her and had an instantaneous healing. Previously I had been a sick woman for years, and at one time I had been an outpatient in a hospital for two and a half years.

Although I had tried to lead a Christian life, I had never realized that, as Mrs. Eddy tells us of man in Science and Health (p. 518), "His birthright is dominion, not subjection."
