"BEGIN RIGHTLY"

"To begin rightly is to end rightly." This statement by Mary Baker Eddy is found on page 262 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." For the successful attainment of any worthy goal we must discern the proper starting point.

We are grateful that for every admonition given us by our Leader rules and directions showing proper methods of procedure have also been given. The rule for beginning rightly in working out all human problems is stated on page 275 of Science and Health, where she says, "The starting-point of divine Science is that God, Spirit, is All-in-all, and that there is no other might nor Mind,—that God is Love, and therefore He is divine Principle."

Because God is All-in-all, He includes man. Perfect God and perfect man are one in being, but individual in office. God, the creator, is the only cause. Man, the image of God, reflects all of God's qualities. God is omnipotent; therefore man expresses omnipotence in power, strength, and ability and cannot be subject to impotence, lack, weakness, or inadequacy. Because God is omnipresent, man abides forever in the presence of divine Love; he cannot be separate from God.
