Since taking up the study of Christian Science, I have received many blessings.

One Sunday afternoon some time ago, while I was in the garden with my wife, we heard a sharp cry from our daughter, aged eight years. On reaching her, we found she had fallen off her swing and had broken her right arm, the lower portion of which was hanging loosely. I immediately picked the child up in my arms and turned my eyes away from the material evidence. These words came to my thought and helped to calm my fear (Ps. 46:10): "Be still, and know that I am God."

My wife telephoned a practitioner, and loving assistance was immediately given. The child in the meantime was lying on her bed sobbing, and I was reading and singing to her some of the hymns she had learned at the Christian Science Sunday School. Soon she started to sing with me and stopped sobbing, and shortly afterward she fell asleep. Not being clear in my own thought whether it was compulsory or not to have a doctor set the bone, I rang the practitioner for advice and was lovingly informed that it was not necessary unless I so desired. As a family we have relied solely on Truth as our physician for several years; therefore we were content to leave all to God in this case also.
