RAINDROPS OF DIVINITY

The gracious rain falls on the famished fields:
The tranquil, waiting earth drinks thirstily,
And empty stream beds parched and gray with dust
Bear laughing, singing waters to the sea.

So fall the raindrops of divinity—
The wondrous words of God that heal and bless—
Upon the heart long famished for the truth,
The eager soul athirst for righteousness.

Ah, glad the watered garden of the heart
Made fair and fruitful by immortal Mind,
That Life omnipotent and infinite
Which flows eternally to all mankind.
