Of Good Report

A meeting held recently in the original edifice of The Mother Church brought to attention in a fresh and inspiring way the indispensability of the writings of Mary Baker Eddy for the student of Christian Science. The occasion also stressed the need for recognition of the finality and completeness of the revelation of Truth contained in these works and the importance of constant and prayerful study of them, together with the Bible.

The meeting, attended by local members of The Mother Church and employees of The Mother Church and its affiliated activities, including The Christian Science Publishing Society, was held under the sponsorship of the Trustees under the Will of Mary Baker Eddy. The speakers, Miss L. Ivimy Gwalter, Associate Editor of The Christian Science Journal, Sentinel, and Herald, and Gordon V. Comer, Clerk of The Mother Church, were introduced by Hudson C. Burr, Publishers' Agent. Not only was the main auditorium of the Original Mother Church filled to capacity, but the Sunday School sections of both buildings were opened to accommodate many hundreds more, who heard the program over a public address system.

This first meeting of its kind stressed the active interest which students of Christian Science have in the publication and use of their Leader's writings, and the fact that the publication, distribution, and use of these works are not activities to be taken for granted, but rather matters worthy of special and regular attention throughout the Field.
