Testimonies of those healed in...
Testimonies of those healed in Christian Science have been so helpful to me that I wish to share two healings which have been steppingstones in my experience.
Through relying on Mrs. Eddy's statement (Miscellaneous Writings, p. 307), "God gives you His spiritual ideas, and in turn, they give you daily supplies," my husband and I were bountifully provided for when the position we had traveled fifty-five hundred miles to accept vanished two weeks after our arrival. Our understanding that this was just an opportunity to prove what God could do for us banished all fear and doubt. Funds for our return voyage, a position, and a home appeared as we needed them. The words of a friend when he knew of our return home, "God has only good in store for you," lifted me above fear and lack.
Shortly after my husband enlisted in the service, leaving me with the responsibility of the home, children, and business, I was overwhelmed with fears, a false sense of responsibility, loneliness, self-pity, and self-condemnation. I asked help from a practitioner in a near-by city, but I was led to progress from reliance on person to a sense of identifying myself with Truth. Later I turned to a practitioner in this city, who tenderly reassured me of God's love and care and showed me more clearly how to live Christian Science in daily life. Through her patient work I was healed of a nervous breakdown, a fibroid tumor, fear of tuberculosis, and a heart condition. At first the healings seemed slow, but when I acknowledged that the truth which was unfolding to me was more powerful than any suggestions of error, progress began. The pains in the chest ceased when I denied the material sense of tension and replaced it with the fact that I was one with God. All the other false pictures soon vanished.
