I first heard of Christian Science through The Christian Science Monitor, our daily newspaper, which was held in high esteem by one of my English instructors in college. I realize now that this contact was the open door which led me to Science, for some years later, when Christian Science was presented to me after a dear one had passed on, I quickly accepted it. It was truly the Comforter.

After a few months of earnest study, I had a return of an old physical difficulty, a severe case of hemorrhoids. I had once submitted to an operation, and materia medica had been given every opportunity to cure me, but at different times I suffered great pain. I went to a Christian Science practitioner, and with two treatments I was completely healed and have never experienced a return of this ailment. At the same time I was healed of constipation and of the smoking habit, although I had not asked for help for these difficulties. I received a great spiritual uplift and a sincere desire to know and understand God.

Within a few years church membership and class instruction came into my experience. Serving on committees, teaching in Sunday School, and doing other church work brought many blessings. Putting church first has brought about harmonious adjustments in my home, in business, and in all my contacts. I must express gratitude for our Christian Science Sunday School and what it is doing for the children. Our son has had the full benefit of this instruction.
