It is with deepest gratitude that I give this testimony of the wonderful experiences and healings which have been mine since I became a student of Christian Science.

I did not become interested in this Science for a healing. It was through a friend with whom I was making my home that I was inspired to investigate it. This friend expressed so much love and tenderness that I was led to ask her why she seemed so different from anyone I had ever met. She said that it must be due to her religion, which, she told me, was Christian Science. I asked her how I could find out more about it, and she lent me a copy of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. I read with much interest, but was skeptical about healing through Science. I studied for more than a year.

One day I became very ill. The physicians said that I had inflammatory rheumatism. They also said that I would not walk again, if I lived at all. I became very much deformed. A neighbor called on me and seeing my condition recommended that I have help from a Christian Science practitioner. To please her I consented to do so. The practitioner was with me for less than an hour. When she started to leave, I got up from the bed and walked to the door with her. That was nineteen years ago, and the healing has been permanent. I was very grateful, but did not really understand how I had been healed.
