It is with a grateful heart that I give this testimony of healing through the application of Christian Science.

Our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy, tells us in Science and Health (p. 454), "Love inspires, illumines, designates, and leads the way." Over thirty-four years ago I was led to Christian Science after men in the medical profession informed me that they could help me no further. They said that I would never be well again, and that even an operation would be of no avail, since most of the organs in my body were out of place. Like the woman in the Bible, I "had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that [I] had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse" (Mark 5: 26). I then called on a Christian Science practitioner, who lovingly informed me that in reality I was God's perfect child. I did not then understand what she meant by this, since my physical condition seemed anything but perfect. After several days of treatment the practitioner in a talk with me brought out the perfection of God's creation. This awakened me, and ten days after my first treatment I discarded an elastic belt, a pad, and many bottles of medicine. I was permanently healed.

Another wonderful healing was of consumption, which was supposed to be hereditary in my family. The same practitioner lovingly helped me through this experience, and when I realized that I am one of the "heirs of God, and join theirs with Christ" (Rom. 8:17), and that therefore I cannot inherit anything unlike God, the healing was complete. This healing took place twenty years ago and has also been permanent.
