It is with real joy and gratitude that I send this testimony, hoping that it will help others as I have been helped. I could never express fully in words the gratitude I feel for the love and encouragement that I have received since I became interested in Christian Science.

The first healing I had was of a nervous breakdown. I had a great fear of going out of the house. For ten years I never traveled on a bus or a tramcar, because I was fearful that if I did, something would happen before I got home again. Then a friend brought me some Sentinels to read. I read only the testimonies at first, and the healings impressed me deeply. Then I visited a practitioner, who was very loving and kind. I remember the first time I went I said to her, "I know you can heal me," and she answered, "I cannot, but God can." She gave me two texts from the Bible: "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind" (II Tim. 1:7); and, "Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee" (Isa. 26:3).

Then I bought a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and read it for hours. I found that my whole outlook on life was changing. I noticed the beauty of everything around me.
