STAND UPRIGHT
"O man
greatly beloved,
Stand upright—yea, be strong."
Thus Daniel heard a voice
Through gathering storms of wrong.
Now Persian power is spent,
Syrian and Greek are gone,
And greater empires rise
As Hiddekel flows on.
The old storms echo still,
And threaten loud and long,
But clearer now the call,
"Stand upright—yea, be strong."
The system lacking love,
The dominating hand,
These shall be broken, "but
The wise shall understand."
