On page 66 of Science and Health...
On page 66 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy we read, "Trials are proofs of God's care." Tweny-nine years ago I turned to Christian Science at a time of great need. Since then many trials have been overcome through my placing radical reliance on the truth as revealed to us through the study of the Bible together with Science and Health. Physical healings, which have been many, include those of heart attacks, tuberculosis, measles, bowel trouble, and influenza.
While we were in Florida early in 1946 my husband was suddenly attacked by severe pain. He is somewhat interested in Christian Science, and we worked scientifically for about three hours; but there was no relief, so a doctor was called and a hypodermic given. The doctor said he had Bright's disease and sugar diabetes and warned that unless he were operated on and took insulin, he would go into a coma and pass on. He refused to go to the hospital and asked that a Christian Science practitioner be called. Absent treatments were given for five days. Then the practitioner uncovered the thought of antagonism, and as soon as that was told to my husband, his healing was instantaneous. He is in perfect health and working every day.
When our daughter was twelve years of age, she was healed of St. Vitus's dance through the help of a practitioner. She had had two attacks before, and each time was under a physician's care for over three months and was kept out of school all the time. When we turned to Christian Science, she was healed in five weeks and did not miss a day of school. Her healing has been permanent. My sister was given up by her physicians with cancer. She turned to Christian Science for help, and with the aid of a pracitioner, was healed. I am the mother of six children. The last birth was instantaneous and painless. In raising our family many problems came along, but Christian Science was our help; it did indeed meet our every need. My blessings have been so many that words alone are indeed inadequate to express my gratitude.
