EXTRACTS FROM REPORTS

of Christian Science Committees on Publication

Southern California

Today it is seldom necessary to correct a newspaper article. Generally, references to our religion are friendly. Others ordinarily appear only in small religious publications or in ministers' sermons reported or announced in newspapers. Six corrective letters were submitted to religious journals, but none were published. However, it is felt that each letter is helpful in correcting the views of those responsible for the misstatements.

Corrective letters were published in seven newspapers during the year. One of these was in a German-language publication. The editor accepted a generous-sized correction of a minister's remarks that were printed in his paper. Many non-Scientists expressed appreciation of the correction and information given in the letter.
