BUILDING THE WALL OF RIGHT

I shall not come from this high place
To temporize with wrong,
For here I build the wall of right
With faithfulness and song.

I need not hear the voice of doubt,
Its arguments of sense,
For building thus, impregnable,
I claim Love's recompense.

And I shall lay it line on line—
This pattern that I build—
Shall hearken to the healing Word
Till error's voice is stilled.

I must not turn from this great task
Of seeing perfect man;
My every thought I shall devote
To working out Life's plan.
