THE LIVING CHRIST
He
sat by the wayside begging that day
And a wonderful thing occurred:
"Jesus of Nazareth passeth by"—
These were the words he heard.
Jesus of Nazareth, the one called Christ.
Who had come to set men free!
He cried out for help, and the blinded man
Was instantly made to see.
This ever-present Christ lives on—
Impartial, bounteous, whole—
Asserting itself as the ideal man,
The beloved child of Soul.
And sin and lack with their binding pain.
And disease that tries to be.
Fall off as scales from blinded eyes.
And man is revealed as free.
