The Rev. John C. Wiley, president of the San Diego Council of Churches,... said America must identify itself with the Christian solution to world problems rather than with the problems themselves. He considered that an America which itself failed to practice Christian principles contributed to the world problem rather than to its solution.
"Too much lip service has been given to the Christian ideals and principles," he said, "while at the same time equally great reluctance and even opposition is expressed to the idea of bringing these ideals and principles down into our practical everyday human relationships in our local and national communities, as well as in world relations.
