I wish to take this opportunity to express my gratitude and thanks to God for revealing Christian Science to our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. Through the teachings of Christian Science I have received many physical healings and gained spiritual enlightenment regarding the Bible and a better understanding of God and man.

Early one morning as I came out of the basement laundry I was attacked with severe pain in my back. The pain was so intense I could barely reach the first floor and sit down in a chair. In a few moments I called a Christian Science practitioner for help, and sat down again. For some time my wife and I declared aloud what truth we could, knowing that man as a reflection of God, Spirit, cannot express anything but spiritual perfection and harmony.

After a short time I was able to go to the telephone and again call the practitioner. By noon I was much improved. When I reported to her later she gave me this statement from "Miscellaneous Writings" by Mrs. Eddy (p. 78): "If God is the Principle of man (and He is), man is the idea of God; and this idea cannot fail to express the exact nature of its Principle,—anymore than goodness, to present the quality of good." The next morning I went to my business and was in my place to conduct the Wednesday evening meeting as usual.
