During the last twelve years I have had several healings through Christian Science. Three healings which came about with the loving co-operation of practitioners. I should like to share.

In 1937 I found myself one Monday morning in a West End store in London with complete loss of voice from laryngitis, and my business necessitated speaking almost continuously. I visited a practitioner at lunch hour, and he gave me a treatment which was instant in effect. He referred me to the following (Ps. 51:15): "Open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise;" and (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, p. 258), "God expresses in man the infinite idea forever developing itself, broadening and rising higher and higher from a boundless basis;" also, the hymn beginning, "Make channels for the streams of Love" (Hymnal, No.182). My voice returned at once, and that evening I was able to read a quarterly report without effort or difficulty before a church members' meeting.

When I was in Glasgow in 1940, one foot became very painful, giving evidence of a fallen arch. I tried to work for myself, but after a sleepless night I telephoned a practitioner for help, which was lovingly given. "Let Christian Science, instead of corporeal sense, support your understanding of being, and this understanding will supplant error with Truth, replace mortality with immortality, and silence discord with harmony" (Science and Health, p. 495) was the thought used in the treatment. The healing came immediately and has been permanent.
