Concerning Christian Science Wartime and Postwar Activities
[From a Christian Scientist in Florida]
Here on our tropical island I have been holding Christian Science services in my cottage. I am a member of The Mother Church. Early in the fall I am alone with my cocker spaniel for congregation; then comes Granny, who will be ninety years young this Christmas, ... then guests from the inn join us, and we have had as many as nine persons at one service.
Last year we started to have a collection. ... Granny and I had a business meeting after service yesterday, and decided that we should like to have two names from you for food parcels to Europe and take care of them from our collections, which are ample. It may be that we can take care of more soon. ... It gives us great happiness to feel that we can share some of our abundance with others in need.
