Spiritual Facts Nullify Human Theories

When a student in school or college is called upon to solve a particular problem in mathematics, or some other subject, and forthwith realizes he has the knowledge that will provide the solution, he feels a sense of satisfaction and security. He knows the answer, or how to find it.

So when a student of Christian Science is confronted with some particular problem pertaining to his character, his health, his activity, or his relationships, he often knows that in the knowledge he has already gained of God and man is the answer to his problem. Or through special study of this Science, as set forth in the Bible and in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, he knows he can without delay find the answer. Material belief, he has learned, has no problem for which divine Mind, God, does not provide the full and final solution.

Take, for instance, coughs and colds, those strange phases of material experience so far removed from any relatedness to pure intelligence, or Mind, that they are ludicrous. Who can see in sneezing, sniffling, or coughing conditions that can be attributed to deific intelligence? And if they are not produced by the one intelligent cause, whence are they, and what is the remedy?
