Church Dedications

Note: Christian Science churches are dedicated only when free from debt.

Maywood, Illinois (First Church).

Dedication services were held for First Church of Christ, Scientist, Maywood, in the morning and afternoon on Sunday, September 30, 1945. The church was dedicated as a branch of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Massachusetts.

In 1917, a small group of Christian Scientists, residents of Maywood took the usual initial step toward establishing a church and organized a Christian Science Society.
