"Arise, shine; for thy light is come"
For one student the light of God shone brightly during the dark years when her country was occupied by an enemy. This was possible because the study of Christian Science gives an understanding of the ever-presence of God. And God's presence always gives light. In the account of creation, God's first command is (Gen. 1:3). "Let there be light." And the account continues, "And there was light."
A student of Christian Science meditated deeply upon this light. She realized that since God is present, the light of Truth and Love is present. She understood how necessary it is to demonstrate what one understands of Truth and Love. Constantly the words from Isaiah (60:1) came to her thought, "Arise, shine; for thy light is come." She found them to be a challenge to give praise to God for protection, guidance, and blessings during the hard years.
