The Independence Examiner

Independence, Missouri (First Church).

The members of First Church of Christ. Scientist, Independence, dedicated their church on Sunday, June 17, 1945, two dedication services being held.

This charming little red brick colonial structure, with its white columns and spire, is a distinct contribution architecturally to the city. Its very design was selected to conform to the southern atmosphere of Independence. The decorative scheme of ivory, white, and mahogany has been carried out throughout. The basement contains the old auditorium, which will be used for the Sunday school, two rest rooms, a cloakroom, store rooms, and the heating plant.
