With a heart full of gratitude to...

With a heart full of gratitude to God I give this testimony, although it is impossible to find adequate words with which to express what Christian Science means to me; it has taught me to trust in God at all times.

For many years I wanted to know the truth about life, but my search seemed long and full of setbacks and disappointments. I went to many churches besides my own, but failed to find what I was seeking. Then my marriage to one of the Jewish faith led me into Judaism, of which I became a stanch adherent. I loved and was much beloved by the Jewish community, and I shall always be grateful for the experience.

In 1914, at the outbreak of World War I, there was an upheaval in my affairs. My husband had to go with the first group of military men leaving for war service and, being inexperienced, I made decisions detrimental to my husband, my children, and myself. I then became tormented with fears about my health, and fell a victim to any kind of fashionable ailment involving surgical operations, thus causing serious financial difficulties.
