Certainly You Have a Home!

How applicable to the housing problem of today are the words of Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p.121), "But man, left to the hypotheses of material sense unexplained by Science, is as the wandering comet or the desolate star—'a weary searcher for a viewless home.'"

Are not prevalent reports of shortages, inferior materials, and black markets only "hypotheses of material sense" that would tempt one to believe that man's home is material, subject to the laws of physical economy? Such suggestions do not originate in God, and the explanations of Christian Science repudiate them.

Man eternally dwells in the realm of Spirit. Therefore, man's home is not a material habitation but his consciousness of man's unity with his creator. Because of this spiritual fact, man is never homeless, never searching for a better home; nor is he ever placed in the wrong home. Man and his home are inseparable, for in God he lives and moves and has his being.
