I wish to express my gratitude for the many blessings I have received through the study and application of Christian Science.

At the age of eleven years, while visiting on a farm, I was instantaneously healed of ptomaine poisoning through Science treatment. Then I began attending the Christian Science Sunday School and had my first real desire to live. Previously my thought had been very despondent. When I joined a theatrical company at the age of eighteen worldly temptations were great, but through the constant help of a practitioner I was not touched by evil, although I was in the midst of it.

After marriage I allowed myself to idolize person, a condition which soon brought about separation. I had a business to manage which I knew nothing about, and two infants to support. I again turned to Christian Science. The Bible tells us (Matt. 6:33), "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, ... and all these things shall be added unto you." And Mrs. Eddy writes in Science and Health (p. 494), "Divine Love always has met and always will meet every human need." When I went to church, the only thing which I was conscious of was the smile the usher gave me as I entered, for it gave me the support I needed to press on. A practitioner helped me to overcome many so-called infants' diseases for the children, and to realize that in reality they had only one Father-Mother, God.
