Christian Science found me an...

Christian Science found me an unhappy, discontented woman with two small boys to bring up. I was like one lost at sea without a compass. Realizing my great need of something to stabilize my thinking and to lift me above a false sense of responsibility, I traveled several hundred miles to see my sister, who had been healed through Science of a condition which she had endured for twenty-five years, and of which medical science had failed to heal her.

I remained with her one month, and returned home a changed woman. I shall never cease to be grateful for those early days. I spent many hours, after retiring, memorizing "the scientific statement of being" as given in our textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 468), also the ninety-first Psalm, and many other treasures.

During the day I spent much time at the piano, learning our inspiring hymns, among which were "Feed My Sheep" (Poems, p. 14) by our revered Leader, and "I look to Thee in every need, and never look in vain" (Christian Science Hymnal, No. 134). How true these words have been proved in the past thirty-five years! I have always been very grateful that I never doubted the efficacy of Christian Science.
