Christmas Carol

Wise and lowly kneel together,
Silent in their awe;
Angels carol to a Babe
Bedded in the Straw.
From Bethlehem's warm manger
To cold Golgotha's hill,
Unmurmuring he bears a cross,
His promise to fulfill.
He walks his journey gently
To give God's Word to men
With tender, loving brotherhood
That all may learn again.
So, echoing, this Christmas time
The world, with heaven, can say,
"Peace on the earth, good will to men,"
Singing all the way.

O wise, O humble, view again
What shepherds and the Magi see.
Rejoice! that Love is yet
Cradled in infinity.
