The Daily Lesson
Morning
meal of food that feeds us,
Life divine to give us light,
Love to meet the thoughts unlovely,
Truth to bid the lie take flight;
Food that feeds us needed patience
To quell all unkind words and deeds,
Feeds us courage, wisdom, wholeness,
Before which discord e'er recedes!
Thus this food so free and sacred
Helps us build foundation sure,
Where we stand to prove dominion—
Man's true birthright—holy, pure.
So in gratitude and reverence
We each day our blessings count,
As our thoughts are gently molded
To the pattern on the mount.
