Mrs. Eddy tells us in Science and Health...

Mrs. Eddy tells us in Science and Health (p. 13). "Love is impartial and universal in its adaptation and bestowals." I know that everyone may receive God's blessings as I have. Therefore I gratefully, joyously, and humbly offer this testimony.

In Psalms (18:20-24) we read:"The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me. For I have kept the ways of the Lord, and have not wickedly departed from my God. For all his judgments were before me, and I did not put away his statutes from me. I was also upright before him, and I kept myself from mine iniquity." The truth of the foregoing was proved to me most vividly on a business trip, when I was quite suddenly called upon by my executive to leave immediately to fulfill what seemed, because of prevailing circumstances, an impossible and unreasonable request for merchandise. With fear and trembling I obediently made the trip, which entailed a five-hour train ride. I spent the time in meditation and the study of Christian Science, but I arrived at my destination without any hope and struggling for a sense of peace.

The next morning I awakened with the same dark forebodings. I proceeded to study the Lesson-Sermon in the Christian Science Quarterly and I was led to open the Bible to Deuteronomy 28. As I finished reading verses 1-13, the thought stood out clearly that these are promises made by God. I knew that if I did my part, I could certainly depend upon God to keep His promises. I questioned myself, and realized that in so far as I knew, I had sincerely tried to follow God's commandments. With that I had a great sense of peace and went forth rejoicing.
