The building of a church edifice is a joyous experience as well as an opportunity for growth in the understanding and demonstration of the teachings of our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy. The joy of building culminates in the dedication oi the edifice—the announcement to the world that all indebtedness incident to the building has been paid, therefore that it is publicly consecrated to God.

The Christian Science Sentinel of October 14, 1905, published a letter which Mrs. Eddy wrote to a church giving assurance of her approval of the dedication of churches as follows: "If your church is chartered, your church edifice should be dedicated when it is paid for." And she added, "May heaven s rich blessings crown your faithful labors, and unity and praise dwell within your walls and in your hearts."

Under certain conditions the Trustees under the Will of Mary Baker Eddy will consider applications for assistance in canceling the final indebtedness incurred in connection with the erection, purchase, or remodeling of church buildings. The installation of an organ is not necessary to dedication, nor is it essential that a contemplated future addition, as for Sunday school or other purpose, should have been built and paid for before the edifice is dedicated. Such additions may be classed as remodeling.
