"No change my heart shall fear"

Many of us, during these uncertain times, have been tempted to forget the significance of Jesus' words, "The kingdom of God is within you." Yet in Christian Science we learn that this simple statement is the keynote to joy, infinite abundance, and Life eternal. What a comfort it is to realize that we, as ideas of God, can never be separated from good, because it is always within us and we are always within it, since God and His manifestation are All-in-all! The kingdom of God, we find, is our forever abode, and we can never be removed from it, nor can it ever be removed from us.

Perhaps one may have had to give up his home, his established routine of life, the dearest of his earthly possessions. Such being the case, let him ask himself, "Have I given up anything real?" Matter is not reality, and man can never lose his spiritual oneness with Love—joy peace, satisfaction— his oneness with every least quality of God.

If we live by the divine standard of Principle—and that is the only way of Life there is—we need fear no change, even if the human events in our experience do seem to be arranging themselves in an order entirely different from that to which we have been accustomed. God's plan for His children is unchanging and can never be less than wholly good, harmonious, and full of blessings. Moreover, there can be no backsliding in the unfolding of this plan, and no standing still, for, as Mary Baker Eddy tells us in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 74), "In Christian Science there is never a retrograde step, never a return to positions outgrown."
