I am very grateful for Christian Science. It has given me all I have of joy, supply, health, friendship, and activity.

I want to tell of an instantaneous healing of extreme shortsightedness I received about nine years ago while attending a Christian Science lecture. I went to the lecture determined to listen to every word, and I succeeded in my intention until the lecturer said that to attain the demonstrations of Christian Science we must start out from divine Mind—claim divine Mind as our Mind—and not try to work up to perfection from mortal mind. This statement arrested my attention. It sounded presumptuous to me at that time to claim God as my Mind. I sat thinking out this new idea, not hearing a word that was being said, until I remembered my early intention to be attentive. I looked at the lecturer again, and to my amazement I could see him clearly, as I could everything else in the large hall. This healing has been a great joy to me, for now I can see the tiny details of flowers, trees, and landscapes where once I could see only masses of color.

I am also very grateful for freedom from a heart difficulty of some years' duration. This healing took place about eleven years ago, after two treatments from a Christian Science practitioner.
